NEW ZEALAND
You can come to New Zealand as a visitor. During your stay, you’ll need enough money to support yourself and everyone included in your application. While you’re here, you can enjoy New Zealand’s scenery, adventure, culture, and friendly people. You can visit New Zealand as a tourist, to see family and friends, or to do business. You might need a visa to come to NZ on holiday, depending on where you’re from and how long you’re staying.
How long you can stay
A general visitor visa will normally allow you to stay in NZ for 3 months. You can apply for up to 9 months in an 18 month period, but more than 3 months will only be granted in special cases.
If you want to stay in NZ longer than your visitor visa allows, you can apply for an extension. You may need to apply for a visitor visa if you intend to stay temporarily in New Zealand, but you don’t intend to study or work. When you are granted a permit, you can stay in New Zealand for a maximum period of up to 9 months.
Along with your completed and signed application form you will also need to provide all the information listed at the front of the application form, and the correct fee. Your application can cover your partner, and any dependent children up to the age of 19. Children over 20, and non-dependents, will need to make their own application.
You will also need to show us proof that you have enough money to support yourself during your stay.
